Howard Sharfman, Senior Managing Director of NFP Insurance Solutions, has been recognized as an innovative leader in the insurance business for over two decades. He manages one of the premier and largest wealth transfer consulting and planning firms in the country and has been recognized as one of the top financial security professionals in the country by Forbes.
Mr. Sharfman’s practice is focused on servicing families with multi-generational wealth, family offices, private equity managers, and the advisors who serve ultra-high net worth clients. His firm has additional expertise in executive and corporate benefits, general insurance and risk management. In addition, Mr. Sharfman is the Founder and CEO of FinFit Life and a shareholder of NFP.
Mr. Sharfman’s ideas and concepts have been shared with peers and advisors around the world through many speeches, presentations, and publications. He has been a keynote speaker at the Canadian Association of Life Underwriting, a featured guest speaker at the Discovery Financial Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, and a guest on CNBC Africa. Howard has had the privilege of speaking at the Chicago Estate Planning Council, Heart of America Tax Conference, and numerous other industry and estate planning council meetings, including TOT, MDRT, Forum 400, AALU, FINSECA, GAMA and NAIFA.
Howard has shown industry leadership by serving as President and Chairman of the Forum 400. He has chaired AALU’s Business Insurance and Estate Planning Committee, and serves on many advisory boards, including Penn Mutual, John Hancock, and Pacific Life. Other current and past board memberships include Life Happens, Partners Financial, and The Finseca Foundation. He was honored to co-author the industry’s response to The Honorable Timothy F. Geithner, Secretary of the Treasury, regarding The Administration’s FY 2013 Estate and Gift Tax Proposals. Currently, Howard is the Chair of the Finseca Foundation.
Mr. Sharfman and his team have had the honor and pleasure to serve some of the most financially influential families in the country as trusted professional insurance advisors and consultants. They have placed or consulted in the placement of over $17 billion of life insurance coverage in the last decade.
Howard has developed professional strategic alliances with several major private banks, law firms, and CPA firms. These alliances are based on a belief that the insurance professional should be included as a trusted advisor on a professional advisory team.
Mr. Sharfman has been married for almost 30 years to his wife Jami who together have two children. He also has been a lifelong numismatist, collecting early half dollars since the age of 8.
